Snow Line Trek Dharamshala

Snow Line Trek Overview

Snow Line Trek is a moderate and scenic trek that starts from Mcleod Ganj in Himachal Pradesh and goes up to the Snow Line campsite, which is located at an altitude of 3,300 meters. The trek offers stunning views of the Dhauladhar range, the Kangra valley, and the Tibetan culture. The trek distance is about 13 km one way, and it takes about 2 days to complete.
The trek starts from Dharamkot, a village near Mcleod Ganj, and passes through the popular Triund campsite, which is a meadow with panoramic views of the mountains and the valley. From Triund, the trail becomes steeper and more challenging, with several ascents and descents. The trail passes through the Laka Got campsite, which is a glacial moraine, and reaches the Snow Line campsite, which is the highest point of the trek. The Snow Line campsite offers breathtaking views of the snow-capped peaks and the glaciers. The trek can be extended further to the Lahes Cave, which is a natural cave used by the shepherds.
The best time to do the Snow Line Trek is from March to June and from September to November, when the weather is pleasant and clear. The trek can also be done in winter, but it requires more preparation and equipment, as the trail can be covered with snow and ice. The trek is suitable for both beginners and experienced trekkers, but it requires good physical fitness and stamina. The trek can be done independently or with the help of a guide or a tour operator.
